Antalya was covered with snow

Heavy snowfall covered the Turkish tourist province of Antalya. In some places, the thickness of the fallen snow reached 10-15 centimeters.

This mostly applies to the mountainous areas of the province. On the coast, in resorts well known to Russian tourists, so far +15 and prolonged rains, but in the mountainous regions of the province continues the struggle of road services with the snow. One of the most affected by the local media was the Akseki-Seidishehir highway in the east of the province, which connects Antalya with the neighboring province of Konya.

The highway crosses the Alakabel pass, 1825 meters high, where the snowfall began at 11 pm and continues – according to Turkish media. While the thickness of the snow reaches 10-15 centimeters, road crews work on the highway than to allow the snowfall to paralyze traffic. While the road is open, heavy snow removal work continues.

However, local residents – and tourists who happened to be traveling – were asked by local employees of the Highways Alacabel, as well as the regional traffic and motorways of Akseka not to leave as soon as possible. And in case of urgent need to “keep anti-icing chains with you.”
