The capital of Greece was covered by a sandstorm. The city turned orange

According to Greek meteorologists, the city was covered by a dust storm that came from the Sahara. The bad weather began on April 22 and reached its peak on April 23.

Local residents share footage of the frightening but beautiful phenomenon on social networks.

“African dust covering Greece has created an eerie picture that makes Athens look like a colony on Mars,” wrote one local resident.

Local authorities recommended that city residents try to spend less time outside until the storm passes.
