Russian war crimes in Ukraine: Mass graves were discovered in Bucha

“About 300 people had to be buried in mass graves in Buchi near Kiev,” Mayor Anatoly Fedoruk told AFP.

The city was liberated by the Ukrainian army on Thursday. According to Anatoly Fedoruk, Bucha was badly damaged, bodies are found on the streets. He added that all the buried were shot.

The Ukrainian police said that Bucha is being cleared, including of explosives. The police are doing everything possible to restore law and order in the liberated territories so that residents can return to their hometown as soon as possible. As added, the residents who decided to stay in Bucha help the police.

Destroyed Bucha

An AFP journalist reported that on Saturday he saw the bodies of at least 20 men in civilian clothes in Bucha. One of them had his hands tied behind his back, and an open Ukrainian passport was lying next to him. According to the journalist, the cause of death could not be immediately determined, but one of the bodies had a large head wound.

AFP emphasizes that the city, which could not be entered for almost a month, is destroyed.
