Prime Minister of Lithuania visited Ukraine: “No words can describe what I saw here”

Lithuanian Prime Minister Ingrida Simonyte is on a visit to Ukraine. The head of the Lithuanian government posted photos from Borodyanka near Kiev on social networks. Ingrida Simonyte tweeted that “no words can describe what I saw and experienced here.”

During his visit to Ukraine, the Prime Minister of Lithuania was accompanied by the head of the Ukrainian government, Denis Shmyhal. In his post on the social network, he called the actions of Russian soldiers genocide.

“Together we visited Borodyanka, which was bombed by Russian troops. The Russian Federation must be punished for the genocide committed in Ukraine,” wrote the head of the Ukrainian government and thanked Lithuania for joining the investigation related to Moscow’s war crimes.

Borodyanka was recently liberated by Ukrainian troops after the Russians withdrew from it. The city was repeatedly shelled and bombed. Today, Ukrainian military intelligence published on the Internet the personal data of Russian servicemen who allegedly participated in war crimes committed there against the civilian population.

The situation in Borodianka is worse than in Bucha

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that, according to the conclusions of the Ukrainian authorities, the situation in Borodyanka is much worse than in Bucha, where victims of crimes committed by Russians were found. After the retreat of the Russian troops, the search for the ruins of Borodyanka began, where most of the residential buildings were destroyed as a result of shelling. Hundreds of people can be found under the rubble of bombed residential buildings. More recently, the Prosecutor General of Ukraine, Irina Venediktova, emphasized that the “target” of the Russian troops attacking Borodyanka was only civilians, since there were no military facilities in this city.
