Mine clearance continues in Istanbul Strait

After clearing an old-style mine by SAS teams in the Bosphorus Strait, the Turkish Navy minesweeper TCG Akçay (M-270) arrived on the scene.

In the morning, the Istanbul Strait Authority received information about a floating object that looked like a mine. The Turkish Underwater Defense Rapid Response Team (SAS) conducted an analysis of the area and announced the discovery of a naval mine, which was successfully cleared.
