The largest city in Turkey, Istanbul, became the most visited city in the world according to the results 2023.
As Time Out writes concerning recent data from Euromonitor International, this luxurious Turkish city was visited by 20.2 million tourists last year. At the same time, Istanbul is expected to receive even more guests in 2024. The increase in tourists is attributed to the recently simplified visa regime for US and Canadian citizens visiting Turkey.
The second line in the ranking of the most visited cities in the world went to the British capital London (18.8 million tourists), and the third place was taken by the largest city in the UAE, Dubai (16.8 million guests).
