They want to deport rowdy tourists from popular Spanish resorts

On the Spanish islands of Majorca and Ibiza, popular among tourists, which have been trying to tame rowdy drunk tourists for more than a year, they decided to resort to even more radical measures.

As the Mirror writes, the government of the Balearic Islands intends to pass a new law that will allow deportation on the nearest available flight, followed by a ban on the entry of foreign guests who violate standards of decency.

In this way, the local authorities want to protect the peace of residents who are tired of noisy tourists, as well as create priority conditions for family tourists who are looking for a quieter vacation.

At the same time, the initiators of the innovations fear that attempts by the Balearic Islands government to blacklist anti-social tourists may run afoul of EU legislation on free movement in cases where holidaymakers are from EU member states.

How Majorca is fighting rowdy tourists

Earlier, the authorities of one of the cities in Mallorca decided to introduce fines of 900 euros for tourists who jump from the pier into the water, after a series of tragic incidents.

Also, in 2022, the Mallorcan authorities announced plans to reduce the number of tourists coming on vacation. To regulate tourist flows, the resort planned to set new stricter limits on the number of accommodation options available to tourists.

Meanwhile, some local restaurants have begun enforcing dress codes to weed out ill-dressed tourists.
