Since the beginning of the war, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have eliminated about 21.8 thousand Russian servicemen. This was reported on Sunday in social networks by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, in the period from February 24 to April 24, the combat losses of the Russian army were approximately: 873 tanks, 2238 armored combat vehicles, 408 artillery systems, 147 MLRS, 69 – air defense systems, 179 aircraft, 154 helicopters, 8 ships / boats, etc.
The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation on March 25 reported the death of 1351 servicemen and the wounding of 3825 people during the war in Ukraine.
On the night of February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the start of a special military operation in the Ukrainian Donbas.
Following this, the Russian army launched strikes against Ukraine. Ukrainian cities, including Kyiv, were subjected to missile and bomb attacks.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky responded by saying that martial law is being introduced throughout the country. The Ukrainian leader also announced a break in diplomatic relations with Russia.
The Kremlin’s actions were condemned at the UN and in most capitals of the world.
