Poland is ready to receive at least 10,000 wounded Ukrainian soldiers

Poland’s health care system is able to help at least 10,000 wounded Ukrainian soldiers, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki was quoted as saying by Reuters.

He said this against the background of a new Russian offensive that has begun in eastern Ukraine.

Poland is already providing medical care to several dozen Ukrainian soldiers and is ready to receive even more, Moravetsky told reporters during a visit to Lviv in western Ukraine.

“We are ready to receive at least 10,000 soldiers if necessary. We are doing everything possible to receive and heal all wounded soldiers from Ukraine,” said the Polish Prime Minister.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said in an interview with the American television company CNN on Friday that 2,500 to 3,000 Ukrainian soldiers have been killed and 10,000 wounded in the war with Russia so far, Reuters reports.

Morawiecki is coming to Lviv to open a Polish-funded “container city” that will be able to provide temporary shelter for 300-350 refugees in mobile homes, according to the BTA.

At the suggestion of the Polish government, container towns for internally displaced persons are being built in Ukraine. They will house women and children fleeing Russian aggression in the eastern part of the country. The first of them will be inaugurated today in Lviv by Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, said the head of the Office of the Prime Minister of Poland Michał Dworczyk on Twitter, he was quoted by the Ukrinform news agency.
