Pensioners bought 51 cruise tours for 500 days, exchanging a nursing home for a year-and-a-half cruise

The record for vacationing on a ship was set by an Australian retired couple, Marty and Jess Ansen. Having purchased a total of 51 cruise packages in a row, one after the other, and trading a nursing home for a year and a half cruise, they have been traveling and vacationing on Princess Cruises’ Coral Princess for 500 days.

“When I retired, I went to the agency, showed my budget, and said: look, I have this much money, buy me tickets for any period,” Marty told the European press.

They ended up purchasing 51 tickets in a row. At the same time, as the couple added, after retiring, they were thinking about a nursing home, but after doing the calculations they realized that a cruise ship was cheaper – and, undoubtedly, more attractive.

Their first cruise departed on June 16, 2022. And to this day, pensioners live and relax on the ship, which can accommodate 2 thousand passengers.

“This is our way of life now. We don’t have to wash the dishes or make the bed. Our room is cleaned every day. We eat from an open buffet, we are always in the sea or pool. There are a lot of interesting places on the ship, and it’s cheaper than a nursing home,” said the Australian couple.
