The tragedy with a bathyscaphe: to the place of the sinking of the Titanic will continue to sell tickets

Tourist trips to the wreckage of the Titanic will continue, despite the recent tragedy with the submersible “Titan,” reports the Daily Mirror.

The expert told the publication that even after the tragic death of five people in the Titan submarine, tourist diving to the Titanic crash site will resume.

Jessica Sanders, president of RMS Titanic, Inc., which made eight expeditions to the wreckage of the historic liner, personally knew one of the victims – underwater explorer Paul-Henri Narjolet. According to Jessica, the scientist would like tourism to the crash site to continue.

Sanders explained that, in his opinion, “the expedition should not be accessible only to a handful of people who can afford to go there.”

“It’s difficult because it ended in tragedy. But do I think that the answer to this would be the impossibility of never going there again? Then it would be contrary to the beliefs of a person whom I deeply respected,” the scientist’s friend added.

She added that she shared the beliefs of her late friend.

“Everyone should be able to see the artifacts, and not only a millionaire, billionaire, military man or director should be able to go down to the crash site,” the woman said.

Sanders also warned that the explosion of the Titanic bathyscaphe could damage the wreckage of the Titanic:

“We were worried that something like this could happen when they were just starting their tourist descents. They have had many expeditions over the past couple of years. They say that they did not harm the remains of the ship, but we need to make sure of this,” said She is the New York Post.

The head of the RMS Titanic added that visiting the wreck of a historic ship is like “going to a museum” where people should be respectful of everything that surrounds them.

The submarine “Titan” was likely hit by a “catastrophic explosion,” and a debris concentration field was found about 500 meters from the bow of the Titanic.

This distance from the crash site means that the passenger liner is unlikely to have been hit by the explosion of the research sub, but this has not yet been conclusively confirmed.

“Again, we have no reason to believe that the Titan submersible made contact with the crash site. The investigation is ongoing,” Sanders concluded.
