In Thailand, a tourist robbed a store by removing clothes from a mannequin and sped off on a motorcycle

A foreign tourist stole clothes from a local shop in Ao Nang, Thailand’s resort province of Krabi, by taking them off a mannequin. The audacious crime was caught on video surveillance cameras. Police are looking for a woman who escaped on a motorcycle. The Phuket Express portal reported the incident on April 25, last Tuesday.

An angry owner of a clothing store in Ao Nang reported the theft to the police, providing CCTV footage as evidence. According to him, on a day off, a decent-looking traveler came to his store, undressed the mannequin herself, and took the things with her without paying for them. The owner did not notice the disappearance immediately, so the tourist had time to calmly “turn off” the scam. As the owner later learned from the video, the girl ran away with the stolen items on a motorcycle.

The behavior of the foreigner raises many questions since the stolen items are not of great value — according to the owner, their price is only about 100 baht, that is, approximately UAH 110. at the current rate. Despite the minor damage, the Thai man fundamentally appealed to the police to take measures, find the suspect and punish her to discourage others from engaging in similar behavior.

We will remind you that the authorities of Thailand adjusted the immigration scheme for punishing tourists who disturb the peace and introduced a system of red and yellow cards for guests of the country. The system is borrowed from football and currently only works on the resort island of Phuket, but the authorities want to spread it to other provinces as well. According to the terms, for shoplifting, the traveler, if caught, faces one of the cards.

Yes, yellow cards are warnings. This means that the tourist can stay until the end of the planned holiday, but his access to the country may be limited. The duration of the punishment will depend on the severity of the offense. Red cards mean immediate deportation from the country and a subsequent ban on entry.
