A tourist in Thailand described 10 things that surprised her a lot

“Thailand is a completely different world,” said the blogger, a professional tourist from Russia who went to the Phuket Sandbox in the fall. In her blog, she described in detail the 10 things that most impress her in Thailand. Among them were the following:

“Paints: after the” gray, damp “autumn in St. Petersburg, from which -” no inspiration “tourist in Thailand wakes up” with the sun, admiring the palm trees and the sea outside the window. And these flowers and statuettes are everywhere! Such a riot of colors after Russia seems unbelievable.”

Other sounds: “For me, the sound of Russia is the eternal rustling of tires, car horns, wind. The sounds of Thailand – the singing of birds, the sound of the sea, the light rustle of palm trees, the crack of bikes, “giggles” of geckos. On the island of Samui, I found the perfect harmony of nature and man,” – writes the tourist.

It’s easy to live here: “We are always thinking about something, fighting for something, arguing with someone and proving something to someone. And in Thailand, no one seems to be straining at all. It is clear that people have an easy attitude to life. The right approach!” – tourist writes.

Smile: Recalling the traditional slogan of “the land of smiles”, the tourist adds that this contrast is especially felt after Russia. “Yes, you will now say that Thai smiles are often insincere. But I still enjoy looking at the face with wrinkles around the eyes, not with a deep crease between the eyebrows. It is better to have an insincere smile than sincere anger and dissatisfaction with everyone around you,” she says.

Sense of security: “I always feel safe in Phuket and Samui. In Russia, I do not like to leave home late at night. And I’m always a little embarrassed if I have a lot of money in my wallet. In Thailand, I quietly throw a bag of expensive things on the beach and go swimming or walking along the shore, –  boasts the tourist. However, she still notes that “maybe in Pattaya or Bangkok everything is different.”

Food everywhere: In Russia, she said, there is no feeling “that food surrounds you on all sides.” “In Thailand, something is cut, fried and eaten at every turn. In Phuket and Samui, there are cafes and poppies at every turn (carts that move around the island and sell food).

Crazy movement: first, it is left-wing, “it’s hard to get used to after Russia,” the tourist writes. “Secondly, even children ride motorcycles here. I think where Thais go all the time. There are not enough pedestrians here. There are really no sidewalks here. This moment is sometimes stressful, ”she says.

Open doors: “I live on the island of Koh Samui. And here no one closes the door! I go to the sea and see that in many houses they are wide open. I sometimes do that myself. I know for sure that no one will come. Is that a neighbor’s cat,” – says the tourist.

All levels: In Russia, you will be appreciated from head to toe. In Thailand, no one cares what brands you wear, what you emphasize the status. Here everyone is equal. I like that there are a lot of stylish people in Russia – it’s always nice to watch. But I also like the ability of Thais to wear socks with sneakers casually,” the tourist writes.

Other life: The tourist does not have a vacuum cleaner in the apartment, a washing machine in the laundry across the street, ready-made food is a little more expensive.

“Everything has become somehow easier. I like it in Thailand. I would not like to live here permanently. But such a reboot is definitely needed by everyone at least once in a lifetime,” – says the tourist.
