Kyiv: Kadyrov promised Putin to eliminate Zelensky

The leader of the southern Russian autonomous republic of Chechnya, Ramzan Kazdirov, has promised Kremlin boss Vladimir Putin to eliminate Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Kyiv-based NV radio reported.

The media refer to the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov.

“Kadyrov received the plan during Vladimir Putin’s visit to the Chechen capital, Grozny, on February 3. The plan was agreed, and the Chechen leader promised that the group he heads would eliminate the head of state,” Danilov said.

According to Danilov, the SBU monitored the actions of three groups entrusted with this task.

“These groups entered our country on February 26 (two days after the start of the Russian aggression against Ukraine), they were waiting for a green corridor to the central part of Kyiv. We followed the groups. One of them was destroyed by our military. Two others retreated to Donbas (territory in eastern Ukraine, partially controlled by pro-Russian separatists) and on the outskirts of Mariupol on the Sea of Azov, these groups are not at the forefront of the enemy, but somewhere in the third or fourth echelon of the enemy, so there is no danger to Mr. Zelensky Danilov added.
