Travel regime for citizens of Ukraine

There is a visa-free regime between Ukraine and the Republic of Kazakhstan (according to the Protocol to the Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan on mutual travel of citizens, http://zakon3.rada.gov.ua/laws/show/398_050)
Citizens of Ukraine may stay in Kazakhstan for up to 90 days within one hundred and eighty (180) days from the date of the first crossing of the state border of the country of entry. If this deadline is exceeded, you must register.

Ukrainians need one of the following documents to enter Kazakhstan:
– passport of a citizen of Ukraine for travel abroad;
– travel document of the child (if previously issued and still valid);
– diplomatic passport;
– service passport;
– seafarer’s identity card (if there is a ship’s role or an extract from it);
– certificate of a member of the aircraft crew (if there is a record in the flight task);
– identity card for return to Ukraine (only for return to Ukraine.
When traveling abroad, it is desirable to have photocopies of the pages of the internal passport. In case of your appeal to the consul about the loss of a passport, it will significantly speed up the preparation of the necessary documents for return to Ukraine.
While in the Republic of Kazakhstan, citizens of Ukraine are obliged to strictly comply with the laws of this country. Ignorance of local laws does not absolve from responsibility for violating them.

Remember that a consular officer cannot release you from administrative or criminal liability.
In case of restriction of freedom of a citizen of Ukraine, a consular official has the right to receive information on the grounds for detention of a citizen and his visit, may provide assistance in finding a lawyer (attorney) and informing relatives. The consular officer shall ensure that the law of the receiving State is applied in full to the citizen of Ukraine and that the citizen of Ukraine is detained in a proper and dignified place of imprisonment.
A consular officer may not act as a lawyer or legal adviser, nor may he or she participate in criminal investigations or legal proceedings on your behalf.
We advise you to register at the consular section of the Embassy of Ukraine after arriving at your place of temporary (for more than 3 months) or permanent residence in Kazakhstan.
