Air insurers tried to stop flights to Russia from another country – the complete cessation of flights to Russia announced the Kazakh Air Astana. The reason, according to representatives of the carrier, “termination of insurance coverage.” But the country is already looking for a solution.
The situation developed as follows: a few days ago the company stopped all flights except the route from Nur Sultan to Moscow. Then it was explained by “production reasons”. Then the situation became clear.
“Air Astana regrets that due to the termination of insurance coverage of commercial flights to / from the Russian Federation and over its territory, all flights in this direction will be suspended,” the carrier said in a statement. However, there is reason to hope that flights will be resumed. “The airline is urgently resolving these issues with the government of Kazakhstan to resume flights as soon as possible,” the statement said.

European lessors have refused to insure Russian aircraft, and their decision could lead to a direct ban on the use of aircraft already in Russia. “Most Russian airlines have received notifications from European lessors about the termination of reinsurance contracts on the night of March 8.”
