Iran warns of consequences of opening UAE embassy in Israel

Iranian Foreign Ministry commented on the opening of the UAE embassy in the Israeli-occupied Palestinian territory

The UAE will bear the responsibility for the instability and disturbance of the calm situation caused by the presence of Israel in the occupied Palestinian territories.

According to Iranian media, the press secretary of the Iranian Foreign Ministry Said Khatibzadeh said this at a press conference on Monday, commenting on the opening of the UAE embassy in the Israeli-occupied Palestinian territories.

According to a representative of Iranian diplomacy, the opening of the diplomatic mission is an attempt by Tel Aviv to give legitimacy to its actions.

“Abu Dhabi must know that the UAE will be held accountable for the instability and disturbance of the calm caused by Israel’s presence in the region,” he said.

In Tel Aviv on Wednesday, July 14, the opening ceremony of the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates took place.

The ceremony was attended by Israeli President Yitzhak Herzog.

The Israeli Embassy in Abu Dhabi opened on June 29.

The UAE and Israel signed an agreement to normalize relations at a ceremony held at the White House on September 15, 2020.

Palestine criticized the UAE’s decision to normalize relations with Israel against the backdrop of a lack of progress in resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
