Bulgaria has declared 10 Russian diplomats accredited to Bulgaria non grata, giving them a 72-hour deadline to leave the country, the Foreign Ministry said.
This is at the suggestion of the competent authorities of Bulgaria in agreement with the Prime Minister Kirill Petkov.
According to the competent authorities, the said staff of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Bulgaria carried out activities in Bulgaria incompatible with the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.
The corresponding oral note was handed to Ambassador Eleanor Mitrofanova by Deputy Foreign Minister Vasyl Georgiev.
She, in turn, perceives this act of the Bulgarian authorities as extremely unfriendly. “Moscow still has the right to retaliate,” BGNES quoted her as saying.
