The expert told where it is cheaper to live in Thailand, having analyzed the options

Prices at popular resorts in Thailand are constantly rising and can scare away tourists who want to rest longer or spend the winter in the country. In this regard, a foreign ex-pat decided to tell in his blog where it is cheaper to live in Thailand and analyzed various options.

The most expensive, according to the author, is on such popular islands as Phuket, Samui, Phangan, Koh Chang, Koh Samet, and Lanta. There are high prices for renting housing and hotel rooms, as well as for food and other goods. To a large extent, this is related to the specifics of the geographical location, because most products must be delivered to the islands. In addition, residents, as a rule, slightly inflate the prices for visitors, although for them life on the islands is more expensive than in other regions of Thailand.

The minimum amount per person required to live on the Thai islands is $1,000 per month. Below this mark, total savings, uncomfortable conditions and, in the literal sense of the word, survival begin.

Lovers of big cities, bright and full of life seek Bangkok. Exactly how much money is needed per month in the capital of Thailand, the author of the blog did not dare to say because of the contrast of this place. He considers 600-700 dollars to be the minimum amount for him, but it all depends on the needs of a specific person and even 2-3 thousand dollars will not be enough for someone.

Life will be a little cheaper in the continental regions of Thailand near the sea. For example, you can find cheap housing rental options in Pattaya. In such little-known resort towns as Prachuapkhirikhan and Chumphon, comfortable accommodation will cost even less. But as you get closer to Bangkok, for example, in Hua Hin and Rayong, the prices are a little higher.

And the cheapest way to live in Thailand is in the northern cities. There is no sea, but there are beautiful mountains, a unique culture, and excellent service. For example, in the country’s second most populous city, Chiang Mai, ex-pats and remote workers from all over the world are happy to settle down because of its comfort and accessibility. Life is even cheaper in the nearby town of Chiang Rai, which is ancient and very interesting.
