Germany has become the leader in terms of tourist flow to Antalya for 7.5 months of this year. From this country, 1 million 364 thousand travelers arrived in the tourist capital of Turkey, which is 250 percent more than in 2021 for the same period. Russia, which in previous years occupied a leading position, this year is in second place. Thus, the number of Russian tourists who arrived in Antalya this year amounted to 1 million 276 thousand (an increase of 13 percent compared to the same period last year). This is followed by the UK – 617,440 tourists, Poland – 392,135, and the Netherlands – 236,115.
In a conversation with the Anadolu agency, the Governor of Antalya Ersin Yazici also noted the growth in the flow of tourists to the region.
“The number of tourists who arrived in Antalya has exceeded 8 million. This figure is far ahead of the statistics for the same period last year. Over a long period, on average, more than 70 thousand travelers are registered in Antalya per day. The authorities of the region often hold meetings with representatives of the tourism sector. Until the end of October, most hotels are generally booked. We look forward to the successful completion of the tourist season,” the governor said.
