The international travel magazine Lonely Planet has released its latest Lonely Planet’s Best in Travel 2023 ranking.
It notes the updated night express route Istanbul (Turkey) – Sofia (Bulgaria), which is called beautiful, original, and very interesting – “an unforgettable cross-border journey through picturesque places, through mountain passes.”
The train departs from Halkala Station in Istanbul (in the Küçükçekmece area) to Sofia via the historical cities of Edirne in Turkey and Plovdiv in Bulgaria.
The Lonely Planet publisher, which specializes in travel guides worldwide, compiles lists of must-see places every year.
