Egypt eases entry rules for foreigners

The Egyptian authorities have somewhat simplified the entry rules for foreigners, replacing questionnaires at airports with online pre-registration.

All tourists entering Egypt can now pre-register on the Visit Egypt website by uploading their COVID-19 vaccination certificates, EgyptAir said. Tourists not registered on the site will still need to present a vaccination certificate, either a negative PCR test or an antibody test, upon arrival in the country.

At the moment, the site for registration is working in test mode. It is expected that the full service will work shortly.

This decision is aimed at facilitating and speeding up the procedure for passing control at the entrance to Egypt. It is designed to ensure the smooth movement of passengers at airports and reduce crowding in terminals.
