A young passenger almost died on a plane due to the actions of a fellow traveler

A young British Airways passenger almost died on a plane due to the actions of a fellow traveler. This was told by the mother of the victim, writes the Daily Mail.

According to 39-year-old Joanna Jones (Joanna Jones), the incident occurred on board the plane, which followed from the island of Antigua to London. During landing, the crew asked passengers not to eat nuts, as one of the tourists had a severe allergy, but after takeoff, a man in the tenth row opened a pack of peanuts. At the same time, the tourist ignored the flight attendants, who several times asked him to remove the snacks.

Minutes later, Joanna Jones’ 14-year-old daughter, Poppy, began to choke due to an allergic reaction and passed out. Then her mother gave her two injections of adrenaline, and the nurse, who was on the same flight, helped stabilize the girl’s condition with the help of an onboard oxygen mask from the emergency first aid kit. After arriving at the London airport, Poppy was rushed to the hospital.

“It was a nightmare for all of us, I thought she might die,” Jones shared.

A British Airways spokesman apologized for the inconvenience caused to the family and assured them that the safety and well-being of customers is a priority for the company.

“We take allergy issues very seriously. Our crew took care of a client who had an allergic reaction on board and arranged for paramedics to be called directly to the plane’s ramp,” he said.
