A blue dragon was discovered on the beach of Phuket: tourists were urged not to approach

On the beach of Karon on the Thai island of Phuket, where the mysterious debris was recently washed up by a wave, tourists met an amazing creature of a rare blue dragon. This is a deadly sea slug that experts have urged not to approach, Thai media reported.

It was clarified that strong winds and rough seas brought this rare marine life to the Thai shore, where tourists often swim. The incident caused concern among swimmers and environmentalists. Ton Tamromgnauasawatu, a scientist and lecturer at Kasetsart University, warned holidaymakers about encountering the creature: “We rarely see blue dragons in Thailand. If you meet them, do not touch them. If contact does occur, wipe the affected body parts with vinegar.”

Note that the blue dragon has a memorable appearance: it has bright blue wings, which really resembles a dragon. Despite its colorful appearance, this creature has an aggressive nature and is ready to attack all uninvited guests. Its venom has a direct effect on the nervous system, heart function and skin cells. Victims of blue dragon bites have previously reported intense feelings of heat and pain, accompanied by dizziness and headaches. In some cases, the poison can be fatal.

According to a ThaiRath report, the slug is common in the temperate waters of Australia, coastal areas of South Africa and various parts of Europe. However, its appearance on the Phuket beach has become a real rarity and reminds of the importance of being careful on the beaches during this period of rain and strong winds. In connection with the threat to the health of all bathers on the popular Karon beach, they were urged to follow the warnings of environmentalists and not approach this bright, but dangerous sea creature.

Background: The blue dragon, or Glaucus atlanticus, is a species of sea slug that lives in mid-level seawater. It is most often found far from the coastline, it is a very rare guest near beaches. These creatures have the unique ability to eat jellyfish, including the deadly Portuguese shipwreck, and also absorb their venom cells, which leads to the formation of a powerful poison in them, so the fact that a beautiful sea creature washed ashore means danger to those who who approaches him.
