Sweden will ease anti-violence measures next week

From February 9, the Swedish authorities will lift most of the restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to Interfax, from this date, the Swedes will again be able to hold large-scale indoor events with more than 500 participants. Bars and restaurants will be open on a regular schedule, rather than closing ahead of time.

The Prime Minister of Sweden Magdalena Andersson said that the worst consequences of the infection are over. But she acknowledged that the incidence rate will remain high for some time to come. Therefore, vaccination and self-isolation will not be canceled in case of infection.

According to the latest data, there is still a high incidence of coronavirus in Sweden. On February 1, 39,000 people fell ill, and on January 27, an anti-infection record was set since the beginning of the pandemic – 53.9 thousand cases. Approximately 2.2 million people have been diagnosed with coronavirus in Sweden since its inception. Almost 16,000 people died as a result of the disease.

Coronavirus restrictions began to be gradually lifted in other European countries, including the Czech Republic. Authorities have revoked clandestine certificates for visiting catering establishments.
