Mariupol has been under siege for several weeks now.
He pointed out that the success of the Russian offensive would depend on many factors, including how long Mariupol held out under siege and how quickly Western partners handed over their weapons to Ukraine.
“Mariupol has been besieged by Russian troops numbering about 10,000 people for several weeks already, in case of their capitulation, these soldiers will be transferred for further offensive to the east,” the President of Ukraine said.
The last round of Ukrainian-Russian negotiations took place on March 29. Then Zelensky said that the signals emanating from the negotiations with Russia can be considered positive. However, as he emphasized, these signals “do not drown out the explosions of Russian missiles.”

The program of the visit of the Austrian chancellor, in addition to meeting with the Ukrainian and Kiev authorities, also includes a trip to Bucha, where the bodies of more than 300 civilians brutally murdered by the Russian army were found.
