The Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba stated that he could neither confirm nor deny Ukraine’s involvement in the attack on a fuel depot in Belgorod, Russia, as he did not have all the military information, Reuters reports.
“I can neither confirm nor deny the claim that Ukraine took part in this simply because I do not have all the military information,” Kuleba told a news conference in Poland. He added that Ukraine is waiting for Russia’s official response to Kyiv’s proposals following the peace talks with Turkey and that foreign forces are not putting pressure on Ukraine to reach a compromise in the talks.
The governor of the region Vyacheslav Gladkov said that this morning two Ukrainian military helicopters struck an oil depot in Belgorod, Russia. This is Ukraine’s first accusation that it has struck Russia since the beginning of the invasion in late February. An eyewitness told Reuters that a new explosion took place in Belgorod at about 13:00 local time.
Half of the exploded fuel tanks at the oil depot have been extinguished, no exceedances of the permissible concentration of harmful particles in the air in the area of the fire have been recorded, no one has been injured, TASS reports.
