1000 missiles per day for Javelin and Stinger systems: Ukraine amends the list of military needs

CNN, citing the list in the editorial office, reported that Ukraine has made some changes to the list of military assistance that it would like to receive from the United States. More anti-aircraft and anti-tank missiles have been added to the inventory.

Ukraine has submitted similar lists in recent weeks, but a recent request reflects a growing demand for Stinger and Javelin anti-aircraft missiles – Ukraine has said it urgently needs 500 missiles a day.

Help

By March 7, the US and other NATO members had deployed about 17,000 anti-tank and 2,000 anti-aircraft missiles to Ukraine. Deliveries continue despite Russian threats to destroy them.

The UK is ready to provide Ukraine with 6,000 anti-tank and high-explosive fragmentation shells. London is also ready to provide about $33 million in military aid.

List of needs

In addition, there are other urgent needs of the Ukrainian army on the list: jet aircraft, combat helicopters and anti-aircraft systems such as the S-300.

The document lists two types of aircraft, including one designed for close air support of troops on the ground. Ukraine requests 36 aircraft of each type.

According to the Zerkalo Nedeli (ZN, UA) portal, Russia’s military strategy stalled during World War II. The main striking force of their army are thousands of tanks. But in true modern combat, tanks are mostly obsolete weapons. Ukraine has many types of weapons capable of quickly and effectively destroying any armored vehicles, including tanks. But we have serious problems that lead to many victims every day. This is the number of enemy planes, missiles and grenade launchers, which are mainly used against civilians.
