Firefighters in the western city of Hagen said on Wednesday that they had to rescue several drivers whose cars were stuck in a flooded underpass. The videos on social networks showed the streets knee-deep in water and covered with landslides. No injuries or injuries were reported.
In the Hof district, near the eastern border with the Czech Republic, a warning was issued late Tuesday night as basements filled with water, trees were uprooted and electricity was cut off in some areas. The German Meteorological Service DWD reported that 80 liters of rain per square meter fell in the region in 12 hours.
