The United Arab Emirates has introduced visa requirements for citizens of Ukraine. According to the Embassy of Ukraine in Abu Dhabi, from March 1, 2022, Ukrainian citizens must first obtain visas to enter the UAE.
“From March 1, 2022, the United Arab Emirates temporarily suspends the Memorandum of Understanding between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the UAE on the mutual abolition of visa requirements,” the diplomatic mission said in a statement.
The temporary suspension of the Memorandum of Understanding does not apply to citizens of Ukraine who are already in the Emirates. The embassy also promises to provide additional information to Ukrainians who are in the UAE for tourism purposes and cannot return to their homeland due to air traffic restrictions.
