Russians have the opportunity to issue debit cards of the VISA or MasterCard payment systems directly in Moscow for further cashless payments and withdrawals abroad.
However, so far only for visiting Sri Lanka. Tourists have already started to take advantage of this opportunity. “Plastic” is drawn up by a Lankan bank directly at the island’s embassy in the Russian capital. Account opening is available subject to a mandatory trip to this resort country.
The tourist operator Anex announced the new opportunity on its official website. Tourists can order a card on their own. Two banks are involved in the registration procedure: the Russian side “Natsinvestprombank”, and from the Lankan side – The People’s Bank.
The main condition for issuing the card is the availability of a confirmed tour to this popular island of the Indian Ocean. The service is offered only to tourists traveling to the country for recreation.
