The New Year’s fireworks display in Ras al-Khaimah was included in the Guinness Book of Records in two categories: the longest line of fireworks on the water and the longest line of fireworks in the sky, reports the Department of Tourism Development of the emirate.
The eight-minute performance was performed along a 4.5-kilometer coastline between Al Marjan Island and the Al Hamra area.
The exciting show reportedly featured technical innovations that had never been attempted before. The display of 1,050 LED drones, aqua fireworks and aerobatics was inspired by Ras Al Khaimah’s natural wonders: desert, sea, mountains.
“The setting of two new Guinness World Records created an enthusiastic celebration atmosphere, bringing together thousands of visitors and residents of the emirate. 2023 was a very successful year for the tourism industry in Ras Al Khaimah: we achieved a number of significant results, bringing us closer to the global goal of welcoming more than 3 million visitors by 2030,” said Raki Phillips, head of the Department of Tourism Development of the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah.
