Dubai may build a resort for “space” tourists

Dubai could be home to the Middle East’s biggest tourist resort, Moon Dubai, with an estimated cost of 18 billion dirhams (US$5 billion) to build. Plans for the construction of the resort were announced by Moon World Resorts Inc.

Moon Dubai will be an entire city with a full range of amenities, from a spa, nightclub, and banquet hall for events to luxury residences, lunar shuttles, and educational facilities for astronauts from all over the world.

The structure itself will be similar to the Moon, with the “lunar surface” surrounded by a “lunar colony”. The resort will be designed to receive 2.5 million guests who want to get to know the field of space tourism. The building will have a height of 224 meters and is planned to be built in two 48 months.

The authors of the project expect that Moon Dubai will be able to serve 10 million tourists and guests a year. Thanks to him, Dubai will strengthen its position as a center of space tourism on the world stage. The roadshow of the project in the Middle East is scheduled for 2023.

The company will present the project in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, and Kuwait, but in the future Moon World Resorts Inc. is going to build 4 resorts in different parts of the world: one each in North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.

Earlier, a project was announced in Dubai, the implementation of which could change the center of the emirate beyond recognition. Renders published online show the Burj Khalifa skyscraper, the tallest building in the world, surrounded by a giant ring raised 550 meters above the ground.

The ambitious Downtown Circle megaproject was proposed by Znera Space. The diameter of Downtown Circle, which is essentially a city within a city, is three kilometers, inside there are residential buildings, cultural, public, and commercial buildings, and on the “axis” – helipads and tram tracks. The architects also took into account the residents’ need for green spaces, including parks, waterfalls, and bodies of water.
