Tourists in Phuket no longer go into the sea: the water on the beach has become black and smelly

The water on the beach has become black and smelly: tourists in Phuket no longer enter the sea. Moreover, photos of the black, muddy water on the beaches in Patong have gone viral on the internet and are threatening serious damage to Phuket’s tourism business.

Now vacationers do not dare to enter the water because of fears for their health and call on the local authorities to solve the problem as soon as possible.

The seawater around the Pak Bang Channel on the beach in Patong has turned black, causing surprise and concern among tourists. They began sharing pictures of the unswimmable area and calling for those responsible to open an investigation. Drone Boat Patong published many photos on its pages with the comment that black algae could affect tourism in Phuket.

We have already written about a similar situation on the beaches of Samui before. There, the local authorities also associate the black color of the water with the bloom of plankton, a completely natural and human-safe phenomenon. Normalization of the situation is expected only within a week. As noted by The Phuket Express, such situations have already occurred on the island.
