Not only the explosive demand for tours to Egypt for the November holidays, but also the growth of bookings until May 2022 was recorded by experts of Egyptian travel agencies.
Thus, the number of confirmed bookings from Ukrainian and Russian tourists in the resorts of Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh has already doubled, and the growth in demand is recorded until May next year. Against the background of such a tourist boom, the occupancy of Hurghada hotels on some dates is already from 90 to 100%.
Egyptian tourism expert Essam Ali said that the sale of tours to Egyptian resorts for the Russian holiday period in November exceeded the expectations of tour operators. According to him, the closure and coronavirus holidays in Moscow and the regions have provoked an increase in demand for the resorts of Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh by 300%. And demand continues until May 2022.
Syed Al-Jabri, a spokesman for one of the largest tour operators in Hurghada, also confirmed that the companies are recording record demand for tours to Egypt during the November holidays. According to him, Egypt is the leader in the preferences of tourists from Ukraine and Russia, it accounts for 47% of total sales by the end of November and about 45% of the volume for the new 2022.
