Locals in the popular Spanish resort of Magaluf on the island of Mallorca are in despair over tourists disturbing their nights’ sleep. People are filming noisy vacationers getting drunk, singing, and shouting on the streets until the early hours of the morning, reports the Express.
According to residents of Mallorca, the problem with tourists is becoming “terrible”. There are more and more videos on the Internet, taken from balconies, where rowdy tourists walk the night streets drunk, singing songs, and shouting. The author of one such entry, who lives on Avinguda de l’Olivera, said: “They walk down the street in packs. It’s horrible and we have to put up with it every day. The sounds can last until the morning. Magaluf is becoming the city that never sleeps.”
A resident notes that during the off-peak holiday season, Spanish students also make a lot of noise at night, but in the summer months the troublemakers are “definitely foreigners.” Jokingly, she added: “The locals think these groups of tourists have come from the Pirate Adventures show! No one sleeps on this street.”
Residents are also outraged by the fact that police officers “ignore” the situation.
“I saw the local police and the Spanish Civil Guard doing nothing. They are just patrolling,” the woman said. In addition, she added that some tourists walk around naked, while others throw garbage on the street.
According to statistics, foreign vacationers stay in this region for an average of 7.2 days. They make up the bulk of the local tourism sector.
