According to the World Happiness Report, Finland has become the happiest country in the world for the seventh time in a row.
The top three, as in the previous year, are northern countries: Denmark is in second place, Iceland is in third place.
The TOP 10 happiest countries also included Sweden, Israel, the Netherlands, Norway, Luxembourg, Switzerland and Australia. Ukraine is in 105th place.
The unluckiest country was Afghanistan, ahead of Lebanon, Lesotho, Sierra Leone and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
In total, 146 countries participated in the rating.
The World Happiness Report uses six criteria to measure countries’ levels of happiness: social support, income, health, freedom, generosity and freedom from corruption. The publication of the report coincides with the International Day of Happiness, which is celebrated on March 20.
