Google shared information about where people are going to travel this summer.
According to Travel + Leisure, travelers are excited about London this season and are planning to head there in droves.
The UK capital has become the most popular summer travel destination in 2024, according to Google. The ranking is based on search queries on Google Flights from June 1 to August 31.
After London comes its southern neighbor, Paris. Tokyo rose to third place on the list this year, having only ranked eighth in 2023. Trips to Rome and New York round out the top five most popular summer destinations.
Travelers are also looking for trips to Bali’s dreamy beaches, which have been ranked number one among solo travel destinations. These are followed by searching for solo trips to Japan, as well as travel to Costa Rica.
Solo travel has become so popular this year that searches hit an all-time high in January.
Travelers also search Google for specific activities, such as the best things to do in Las Vegas for couples or the best things to do in Orlando with kids. When it comes to all-purpose destinations, Google reports that the Turks and Caicos Islands are the most popular routes for both family and couple travel.
