Thai airline Bangkok Airways has begun weighing passengers and hand luggage before boarding the plane. This is reported on the carrier’s official website.
Bangkok Airways will collect information on the average weight of its customers from September 15 to October 31. The statement stressed that this data is needed by the foreign airline’s employees to confirm that the actual weight does not exceed the maximum take-off weight limit.
According to the airline, the announced study has important implications for the safety and efficiency of flights.
“We guarantee that the information will be confidential and will be used to update standard information on the weight of passengers and baggage,” representatives of the carrier emphasized.
Let us remind you that on August 28, South Korea began weighing passengers before boarding the plane. The order came from the Ministry of Transport and applies to all air carriers in the country.
