Thai restaurants advised to strengthen preventive measures

Air-conditioned restaurants in Thailand must only serve visitors with an antigen test valid for 7 days or a complete vaccination certificate. This was reported on December 11 by the Nation Thailand edition with reference to the recommendations of the country’s Department of Health.

The agency has released other coronavirus prevention tips for restaurants. Clean tables immediately after visitors leave. Disinfect toilets every 1–2 hours. In buffets and self-service counters, hand out gloves to customers. Keep the dishes clean. Have bottles of disinfectant gel on the tables. In air-conditioned restaurants, each table should be 2m apart and visitors should not be allowed to sit directly opposite each other. Clients are allowed to stay in the room for no more than 2 hours. All restaurants must be well ventilated: open all doors and windows at least half an hour before turning on the air conditioners. Visitors are also required to wear masks unless they are eating.

These preventive measures are associated with an increase in tourist flow to the country. In addition, a week ago, a case of infection with a new strain of coronavirus – “omicron” was detected in the country. In connection with the incident, the authorities have not yet planned to tighten the rules for crossing the border. But, apparently, they intend to strengthen control over both incoming tourists and those who are already resting at the resorts.
