Spanish authorities have allowed women to swim topless in public pools. The country’s leadership made a similar decision back in 2020 in Catalonia and approved it in the law on gender equality. At the same time, regional authorities do not always comply with this rule and still prohibit beach lovers from exposing their breasts.
This caused massive complaints from activists of the Free Nipples feminist community, who opposed those who did not listen to the innovations of the Spanish authorities. The country’s leadership reacted to the messages of women’s rights defenders.
Now the government in the regions has the opportunity to fine those who do not follow the decree and prohibit swimming with the bare chest in the amount of up to 500,000 euros.
Transgender woman Rose Montoya, who previously bared her breasts on the lawn of the White House, apologized to her compatriots for her act.
