The updated entry rules introduced in Egypt are not only for tracking fake tests and other documents, but will also help tourists who have technical problems – such as an unreadable QR code. This was stated by experts in the Egyptian media.

It will be recalled that the Egyptian Tourism Development Agency (ETPB) sent a circular to travel companies, officially announcing the rules of entry of citizens into Egypt from January 22, 2022. According to him, tourists will be able to enter Egypt with vaccines approved by the World Health Organization, if at least 14 days have passed since vaccination. Those who are not vaccinated will be able to enter Egypt with a certificate of negative test results. children under 12 do not need a certificate.

“Tourists will no longer be stuck at boarding gates after arriving at Egyptian airports if the vaccination certificate or test has an illegible QR code. Earlier, Ukrainian and Russian tourists were not allowed to enter the country with such documents, ”the experts commented on the section, which they described as deportation rules. According to them, additional testing at resort airports is a measure “in favor” of tourists without a QR code or those whose PCR test ended due to a flight delay. They will be able to take a quick test for $ 20 upon arrival in Egypt.

Previously, tourists with such documents were not allowed into the country, they were threatened with deportation. Now, even if the test is positive, they will not be sent back to their country. Tourists are allowed to stay in quarantine for five days at their hotel. If a negative test result is obtained on day 6, the quarantine will be lifted. If the result is positive, he will remain in quarantine for another 5 days, “Egyptian experts explained. At the same time, tourists will have to pay for the hotel and tests themselves.
