The cruise company is launching a three-year 130,000-mile cruise where you can get away from everyday life for a year for $30,000.
The trip starts from Istanbul on November 1, 2023, with the catchy name Life at Sea Cruises: the organizers have opened bookings for a three-year cruise on the MV Gemini and promise to visit 375 ports in 135 countries on all continents.
What will travelers see? Iconic sights – from the statue of Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro and the Taj Mahal in India to Chichen Itza in Mexico, the pyramids of Giza, Machu Picchu, and the Great Wall of China.
“The visit program includes trips to 103 tropical islands,” the voyage organizers add. “And 208 ports out of 375 will have overnight stops, which will give you extra time at your destination.”
Supertrip initiators have a 30-year history in the cruise industry. For the transportation of passengers, the ship will be overhauled: it has 400 cabins, accommodating up to 1074 passengers.
As noted by CNN, in addition to the traditional amenities of a cruise ship, such as restaurants and entertainment, the liner will also be equipped with equipment for remote work.
The organizing company promises a full-scale business center with meeting rooms, 14 offices, a business library, and a lounge. Access to services will be free.
The vessel will operate a 24-hour hospital with free doctor visits. Tourists are also offered the possibility of “additional tax benefits when working as an international resident on board a ship.”
“Professionals need the connectivity, convenience, and functionality they need to get the job done,” Mikael Petterson, Managing Director of Life at Sea Cruises, said in a statement. “There is no other cruise that offers this kind of flexibility to its customers.”
Price? The 13-square-foot Virtual Inside cabins will set tourists back $29,999 a year. A three-year trip for two is about $179,994. If the client chooses a spacious cabin with a balcony, he will pay up to $109,999.
Passengers must sign up for all three years, though the company is running a match-up scheme where passengers will be allowed to share a cabin with someone else. For example, two couples can buy one cabin for the entire trip and then split the trip between them.
Single travelers receive a 15% discount on double occupancy rates. The minimum initial deposit is 45 thousand US dollars.
In addition to the business center, there will be a lot of interesting things on board: a sunbathing terrace and pool, a wellness center, an auditorium, and “several dining options”, although full details have not yet been disclosed.
Dance and music instructors will work on board, and special meetings will be organized for solo travelers.
Route? The ship will circle all of South America (jumping south to Antarctica), circle the Caribbean islands, visit both coasts of Central America, and then pass along the western coast of North America and call on Hawaii.
Stops in Asia include Japan (12 stops), South Korea (including Jeju Island), and China. It also covers most of the classic Southeast Asian destinations, from Bali, and Da Nang in Vietnam, and the Cambodian coast to Bangkok, Singapore, and Kuala Lumpur.
The ship will circle Australia, and New Zealand and proceed through the South Pacific Ocean, circle India and Sri Lanka, then visit the Maldives and Seychelles, after which it will cross the west of Africa, enter the continent in Zanzibar, and then proceed to Cape Town and along the west coast of Africa – with quick entries to the islands, including Saint Helena, the Canaries, and Madeira. It also cruises the Mediterranean and Northern Europe.
Just one word of warning: in addition to a cruise ship, you’ll also need a time machine to visit some of the stops listed on the “13 Wonders of the World” list, which includes places like the Lighthouse of Alexandria, the Colossus of Rhodes, the Temple of Artemis at Ephesus, and the statue of Zeus. in Olympia – they were all destroyed in antiquity.
However, the cruise also includes free high-speed Wi-Fi, which should make up for any disappointment. Cruisers will also be able to invite family and friends on board for free. The long list of what is included in the trip also includes alcohol at dinner, soft drinks, juice, tea, and coffee throughout the day, laundry, port fees, and housekeeping. All meals are included in the cruise fee.
