Amsterdam has decided on a location for the Red-Light District

According to Der Spiegel, the authorities of Amsterdam (Netherlands) have decided on a new location for the Red-Light District, which should move from the historical center of the city.

The famous quarter will be moved to the so-called Erotic Center on the southern outskirts of Amsterdam. This will be a high-rise building with workplaces for sex workers, as well as restaurants, bars, clubs, and sex theaters. It will open within seven years.

The advantage of the center will be accessibility both by public transport and by car. In addition, there are mainly offices and hotels nearby, rather than residential buildings.

At the same time, sex workers are against the move and want to stay in the historical center.
