A handbag from the famous Louis Vuitton brand was stolen from tourists at the Don Mueang International Airport in Bangkok. The price of a luxurious product is sky-high – UAH 2,200,000. ($60,000). Thai police successfully arrested the kidnapper. He turned out to be a Chinese citizen.
According to The Thaiger, the injured Chinese tourist filed a complaint at the Don Mueang police station, where the girl was listened to and promised to find the thief, a connoisseur of luxury goods. The traveler clarified that she had left her pink Louis Vuitton handbag at the counter where visas are issued for those arriving. When the woman returned to pick it up, she found that her feminine accessory was gone.
The traveler, very excited about what happened, said that the bag was produced in a limited edition, and there are only five such copies in the world.
The police have started an investigation. They reviewed footage from video cameras installed on the counter and in the surrounding areas to find out who needed the bag. Soon success smiled at them. The footage showed the man, later identified as 38-year-old Xiaoyi Liao from China, taking an interest in the pink bag. He took it and put it in his backpack, after which he went to the toilet. There he shook out the contents – ID cards, bank cards and other personal belongings of the tourist went to the trash can. Then the Chinese went, as he had planned, to the northern province of Chaing Mai. He was supposed to return to China on June 21 through the same Don Mueang airport in Bangkok, but he was detained until then.
Earlier, a series of arrests of Chinese citizens took place in Thailand after the easing of restrictions on movement between the two countries. Most of the detainees were arrested for organizing drug parties and various types of fraud.
