Another published video about wars over sunbeds became a “hit” on social networks. A hotel employee decided to stop the selfish behavior of tourists who occupy the sun loungers by the pool with their towels. The incident reported by a tourist on his TikTok account happened in Majorca, a popular island resort in Spain.
The tradition of “reserving” the sunbeds by the pool with the towels left on them is a common practice among vacationers at resorts. Some guests specifically get up early in the morning or even at night to go and put their toiletries on the sunbeds – this is how they let others know that they have reserved a seat, even if they don’t intend to use them. This creates inconvenience for other vacationers, who find it difficult to find free sunbeds for rest after breakfast.
The hotel employee probably got tired of watching the selfish behavior of tourists who occupied sunbeds exclusively for themselves, leaving them empty for a long time, and began to carefully remove them from the sunbeds and pack them into bags. So he released several sunbeds for other vacationers.
These actions were recorded by traveler John McGowan, who was resting in this hotel. The man immediately published a video clip from the social network and signed “Justice won today”. The content caused a wave of enthusiastic feedback from tourists who were outside the Spanish hotel. Users dubbed the staff member the towel police and praised him for taking revenge on tourists who occupy sunbeds by the pool in this way.
The video quickly went viral and garnered over 34,000 views on TikTok. Spectators expressed their support for the hotel employee, noting that he intelligently and fairly solved the problem with guests who think only about their comfort. “Probably a smart way to deal with these selfish, idiotic individuals.” “All resorts should have someone monitoring the sunbed situation. I’ve seen people guarding their sunbeds from morning till late at night”, “Great job, hope others take notice. Maybe it will make people’s vacation less stressful if towels are no longer distributed,” they commented.
