According to ABC News, a boat carrying tourists sank at the Cancun resort in Mexico, killing four people, including a child.
The crash occurred as tourists returned to Cancun from Isla Mujeres in bad weather. There were 19 people on board the boat, designed for 16 people.
The boat capsized due to waves caused by a larger vessel passing by and strong winds. The ship sank. Two women, a man, and a ten-year-old child died. Their nationality is not specified. The condition of several rescued people is assessed as serious.
Isla Mujeres police detained the ship’s captain.
