The United States has called on American citizens to leave Russia immediately, according to DPA. “US citizens must leave Russia immediately,” the US State Department said in a statement. “Do not go to Russia because of the unprovoked and unjustified attack of the Russian armed forces on Ukraine,” the text reads.
It is also noted that the US Embassy has limited opportunities to help American citizens in Russia.
American citizens must arrange their own departure from Russia and seek help from the US authorities in another country, if they need it, the text says.
He also warns of the possibility of persecution of foreigners in Russia, including through provisions specifically directed against foreign nationals.
