Russian riot police refused to go to Ukraine: They were fired from service

According to the independent Russian portal Meduza, more than a dozen OMON officers refused to comply with the order to enter the territory of Ukraine. For this refusal, they were punished by dismissal from the service. They declared both decisions illegal.

In the Krasnodar Territory, 12 OMON officers refused to go to Ukraine. According to the independent portal Meduza, all of them have been dismissed from service. Earlier, some Russian independent media reported that some soldiers and officials refused to participate in army operations on the territory of a neighboring country.

As Russian independent journalists have established, riot police have been in the annexed Crimea since the beginning of February, where exercises were taking place. On February 25, the second day after the entry of the Russian army into the territory of Ukraine, the officers were ordered to cross the Russian-Ukrainian demarcation line.

According to the Meduza portal, the commander of one of the units and eleven of his subordinates refused to comply with an order that they considered illegal. They were dismissed from service for refusing to enter the territory of Ukraine. According to the riot police, this decision of the authorities was also illegal, so they went to court demanding that they be reinstated.
