Ukrainians return en masse to Kyiv: Klitschko warns return is not yet safe

The mayor of Kyiv, Vitaliy Klitschko, said that two-thirds of the residents of the Ukrainian capital who left because of the war returned to the city.

During a nationwide telethon broadcast by Ukrainian television, Vitali Klitschko said it was still unsafe to return to Kyiv. He also referred to the recommendations of the military authorities, which warn against the threat of Russian missile attacks on the city.

He pointed out that public transport in Kyiv is still closed, and checkpoints have been set up in the capital. He also spoke about the problems associated with the mining of adjacent territories.

Vitali Klitschko also said that about 10 thousand migrants from other places are registered in the capital today. These are mainly residents of the Kiev region: Irpin, Bucha and Gostomel.
